With World of Padman, the Linux 2.6.38 kernel with Mesa 7.11-devel on Gallium3D with xf86-video-ati 6.13.99 is now 20% faster than the stock Ubuntu 10.10 or an incredible 69% if disabling the swap buffer wait support. At 800 x 600, this brings the open-source driver up to 87% the performance of the proprietary AMD Linux driver.
