OpenSSL as shipped by each of the Linux distributions had a slight edge for CachyOS. At least for Ubuntu users, going from Ubuntu 24.04 LTS to 26.04 LTS with the default OpenSSL (3.0 to 3.5) means a very nice performance improvement for the AES-128-GCM / AES-256-GCM performance.
For other algorithms there wasn't much of a difference between those Ubuntu LTS releases.
At times the CachyOS lead was small but more often than not ending in first place.
CachyOS had a more pronounced lead with the Cockroach database.
