CentOS Stream 10 Showing Nice Performance Uplift In Early Benchmarks On AmpereOne
The out-of-the-box Python performance is much faster on CentOS Stream 10 thanks to the default version going from Python 3.9 to the speedy Python 3.12.
Overall the CentOS Stream 10 performance is looking quite nice from my initial testing on this Supermicro AmpereOne server with 192 AArch64 cores. Again though shouldn't really be that surprising given the significant software upgrades in place, but nevertheless hopefully these numbers were insightful for helping to quantify some of the potential performance benefit out of CentOS Stream 10 and what will eventually be RHEL 10.
More CentOS Stream 10 benchmarks to come on more hardware soon along with the larger AmpereOne Linux distribution performance comparison. CentOS Stream 10 is delivering some nice gains and is good news going into Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.
