Thanks to the optimized compiler defaults, function multi-versioning, and other optimizations employed by Clear Linux, it has been able to offer meaningful performance advantages over Ubuntu and other tier-one Linux distributions over the years.
Clear Linux not only delivers the best raw performance but typically was at the forefront of power efficiency too.
When routinely having run dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of benchmarks on Clear Linux over the years at Phoronix, this distribution consistently was the front-runner on AMD and Intel hardware.
Especially for HPC workloads there were very valuable advantages to running on Clear Linux.
