CachyOS, Clear Linux & Debian 13 Deliver The Best Performance On Framework Laptop 13 With AMD Strix Point
Kicking things off with the web browser benchmarks, all of the distributions as of testing time were on Firefox 137 with the exception of Debian 13 Testing using Firefox 128 as the ESR release. Debian with its older Firefox was the slowest while CachyOS and Clear Linux were the fastest for the Speedometer 3 browser benchmark.
CachyOS' leading performance did come with the highest CPU power consumption while Debian Testing (13) consumed the least and also delivered the best performance-per-Watt in this browser benchmark.
The margins were slim for the JetStream 2 benchmark running within Firefox between CachyOS, Clear Linux, and Manjaro for the best performance while this time openSUSE Tumbleweed delivered the best performance-per-Watt.
For the CSS StyleBench benchmark, Clear Linux and CachyOS were delivering the best performance by far. CachyOS was still consuming slightly more power than Clear Linux on this Framework Laptop 13. The Arch Linux-based Manjaro 25.0 ended up delivering the best performance-per-Watt for StyleBench.
CachyOS and Clear Linux were delivering the best web browser performance on this AMD Strix Point laptop.
