With the JetStream 2 web browser benchmark under Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, the Framework Desktop had a slight advantage over the Strix Halo SoCs within the HP ZBook Ultra G1a laptop form factor and the other laptops tested. The CPU power consumption of the Framework Desktop was comparable to that of the two HP ZBook Ultra G1a laptops tested.

When turning to more demanding creator workloads is where beginning to see the Framework Desktop deliver a leg-up over the Strix Halo laptops and the performance offered via the current Framework Laptops.

In many workloads the Framework Desktop with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 offered nearly identical performance to the HP ZBook Ultra G1a with Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395.

But when turning to demanding multi-threaded workloads is where the Framework Desktop was able to pull ahead with a significant advantage over the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 within the HP ZBook Ultra G1a. As can be seen from the CPU power data, the Framework Desktop allows hitting up to the 120 Watt custom TDP of the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. The HP ZBook Ultra G1a never lets Strix Halo exceed ~72 Watts while in the demanding workloads the Framework Desktop has sufficient thermal/power capacity to hit 120 Watts.
