For some of the OpenJDK Java workloads tested, FreeBSD 14.1 did perform slightly better on this AMD Ryzen Threadripper workstation than with the prior FreeBSD 14.0 release. But for a number of cases the performance was unchanged and the wins for these Java benchmarks were quite small. In any event, we'll take any performance improvements we can get.
Due to the upgraded LLVM Clang compiler or other factors, the x265 video encoding performance was moving in the right direction with FreeBSD 14.1 on this 64-core System76 workstation.
