The Java-based DaCapo benchmarks were also faster on the Linux distributions over the BSDs.
Clear Linux was showing that it can even squeeze out more performance of Java workloads. At least with these tests, DragonFlyBSD 5.4 and FreeBSD 12.0 were tending to run a bit faster than their predecessors.
The Java-based Sunflow rendering system also found the new BSD releases performing faster than the previous releases, but not as fast as the three tested Linux distributions.
