GCC 16 Compiler Delivering Some Decent Performance Gains Over GCC 15
In a few of the OpenAPV benchmarks were some apparent regressions compared to GCC 15.
For many of the video encode benchmarks the compiler doesn't play as crucial roles due to already having hand-tuned Assembly or other carefully crafted optimizations within the compilers.
Overall GCC 16 was running well in my testing thus far on this HP workstation and other hardware. Fedora Workstation 44 is the first major Linux distribution already shipping with GCC 16 by default.
