Intel 200S Boost Performance Mode Benchmarks On Linux
For web browser benchmarks there were very slight improvements out of the Intel 200S Boost mode under Linux.
At least with this ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z890 HERO + DDR5-6400 XMP + Core Ultra 9 285K system running Ubuntu 25.04, the performance benefits of the 200S Boost mode were very muted. Perhaps this Intel 200S Boost mode overclocking profile is also relying on some interaction with the Windows drivers? Or otherwise some differing power management behavior compared to the current Intel Windows software/drivers. At least from the dozens of benchmarks I carried out this week on this Core Ultra 9 285K system, the performance benefits tended to be slight and even for Linux gaming performance well under the few percent gains noted by Intel. In any event at least as I happened to show earlier this week on Phoronix, there have been some very nice performance gains for Intel Arrow Lake on Linux compared to the at-launch performance, so the Core Ultra 9 285K on Linux continues moving in the right direction.
