Intel Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake" Windows 11 vs. Ubuntu Linux Performance

With the proprietary V-RAY renderer on both platforms, Ubuntu Linux was around 15% faster than Windows 11. Switching to a newer kernel or the performance governor didn't help here for the Arrow Lake system.

With the Appleseed renderer native to each platform, Windows performed around the same as Linux. This is a bit surprising with Linux often leading in these CPU rendering tests but nevertheless at least the two operating systems were on the same playing field.

With the proprietary Indigo renderer, Linux was carrying the slight advantage.

The Blender 4.3 3D modeling software continues performing much better on Linux than Windows. This is what we are used to seeing across both Intel and AMD processors and so it's good to see with Arrow Lake still maintaining these significant advantages to Linux... Had it not, it would have clearly indicated some Linux CPU issues for this latest-gen hybrid desktop processor. The different kernels and P-State performance mode hadn't impacted these Core Ultra 9 285K results.
