Intel Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake" Windows 11 vs. Ubuntu Linux Performance

With the ASTC texture compression benchmarks there was a slight advantage to running on Windows, which was a bit surprising as typically Linux performs slightly better.

With Intel's OSPRay Studio software Linux returned to being the front-runner.

The results were tied for Y-Cruncher.

With various multi-threaded chess benchmarks, Ubuntu 24.10 was slightly outperforming Windows 11 24H2.

Linux typically leads with 7-Zip compression performance over Windows but in the case of these Arrow Lake numbers were tighter than what I typically see on desktop CPUs.

Typically in the video encode benchmarks there is much greater uplift out of using the performance governor compared to powersave / ondemand / schedutil but surprisingly with the P-State performance governor on Arrow Lake there was little difference.
