Intel Battlemage GPUs on Linux also have much better kernel latency now compared to one year ago. As separately covered on Phoronix, getting the Intel Ultra Low Latency Scheduling (ULLS) working with the Xe kernel driver and Compute Runtime for Xe2/Battlemage yielded a massive improvement to the OpenCL kernel latency.

In some of the Hashcat benchmarks the Intel Arc A580 was in better shape now too, but overall the B580 was delivering much better performance now at the end of 2025 on the latest open-source driver stack.

There were also very nice performance gains with the latest software when running Blender with the Intel oneAPI back-end.

The Intel Arc B580 GPU compute performance has evolved a lot since launch. Coming up next week is looking at how the Intel Battlemage graphics performance has evolved for OpenGL and Vulkan with their Mesa drivers in a similar showdown against the prior launch-day data.
