For multi-threaded image encoding like with AVIF, the Core i5 13600K came out ahead of the more expensive Ryzen 7 7700X thanks to the higher core/thread count.
Across a range of different image and texture encoding benchmarks, the heavily threaded scenarios favored the Core i5 13600K while the less threaded configurations were of advantage to the Ryzen 7 7700X.
