Granted, not too many users will be running database servers on their Panther Lake laptops, but this can be more applicable for Panther Lake in edge devices and also much more important for Diamond Rapids server processors coming with FRED support. With AMD Zen 6 having FRED it will be interesting to see if there are similar gains there too.
Apache's CouchDB also showed some solid benefits with leveraging FRED on Panther Lake. Importantly, FRED had not caused any measurable increase in power usage for this Core Ultra X7 358H laptop processor.
