FRED presented a compelling case in database workloads.
Across all the database workloads tested, FRED was showing some nice results while in some cases like PostgreSQL the performance gains were especially jaw dropping.
Pretty solid gains out of Intel FRED on Panther Lake for I/O intensive workloads, once knowing to manually enable it with the "fred=on" kernel option until there is a default change made.
The SQLite embedded database performance was also faster with FRED, which is widely-used by various desktop applications and more.
