It's also great that under Linux with the open-source driver code that all these generations could be tested off the same driver stack and not having to worry about any "legacy" driver branch or the like.
The generational uplift from Xe2 Lunar Lake to Xe3 Panther Lake is rather staggering compared to the gains on prior generations of Intel graphics. On a performance-per-Watt basis more of the gains were found when transitioning from Meteor Lake to Lunar Lake.
The open-source games work great for benchmarking several generations of Intel iGPUs with demanding AAA games being unplayable at all going back to Intel Gen9 graphics.
