Switching From i915 To Xe Linux Drivers Can Yield Some Big Gains For Intel Arc A-Series

Across OpenGL and Vulkan benchmarks, the Xe driver advantage wasn't nearly as great as the performance gains enjoyed during the Compute Runtime / OpenCL benchmarks. There were still some nice incremental improvements with switching to the Xe driver but for the A770 simply not as enticing as if engaging GPU compute workloads. In any case it's quite easy switching from the i915 to Xe kernel drivers and thus a worthy option to explore if you are trying to maximize the Intel graphics performance on Linux for your prior-generation hardware.
