With the SHOC OpenCL benchmarks there were gains seen immediately from moving Meteor Lake over to using the Xe kernel driver.
The OpenCL / GPU compute performance was the main area where Alchemist GPUs benefited too from switching over to the Xe driver.
Some of the improvements were rather dramatic from changing the DRM kernel graphics driver without making any other software or hardware changes.
For those making use of GPU compute workloads, switching any Meteor Lake hardware over to Xe is looking extremely worthwhile. Especially with the driver change just needing to be altering of kernel module options at boot time or as part of your bootloader configuration.
