EPYC 7642/7742 vs. Xeon Platinum 8280 Performance With Intel-Recommended Benchmarks

To no surprise, and as shown before in other articles, EPYC Rome easily wins over Cascade Lake in the well known Stream memory benchmarks thanks to supporting eight DDR4-3200 memory channels.
And a look at HPC Challenge for HPL/Linpack. This is one of our first times comparing these particular CPUs with HPCC due to the time required to run HPC Challenge.
In the FFT performance, EPYC Rome wins by a wide margin thanks to its many extra cores compare to the Xeon Platinum 8280.
The DGEMM test was one of the only wins for Xeon Cascade lake in this comparison.
