Code compilation was faster with large codebases like Gem5 compared to one year ago. It may be a number of factors helping with better performance now, including the move from GCC 13.2 on Ubuntu 24.04 to GCC 15.2 with Ubuntu 25.10. Plus the newer Linux kernel can help out and other enhancements, plus the benefit of now being a reliable Giga Computing server platform.

For many of the benchmarks carried out the performance was the same as found last year for the Intel Xeon 6900P series launch. Some of the benchmarks ran on that older software stack also wouldn't run on Ubuntu 25.10 when keeping to the same benchmark versions due to the upgraded compiler and other differences.

A number of the HPC benchmarks saw no real change in performance since launch...

But some of the benchmarks did see some nice uplift compared to what I experienced with the reference server testing last September.
