One of the biggest wins observed with the newer software stack on this Sierra Forest 2P server was the Apache Cassandra database seeing its performance more than double. OpenJDK Java 21 was used then and now and so this big improvement may come from all the kernel optimizations over the past year and a half.

The ClickHouse database server was observing some smaller but still nice performance improvements with this leading-edge Linux software stack on Intel Xeon 6700E.

While Granite Rapids is much better suited for HPC workloads and scientific computing, there were some nice improvements observed here too.

Intel's own oneDNN library was also seeing better performance with the fresh software stack.
