Linux 6.15 Delivering Some Performance Gains On AMD EPYC For AI, HPC & Databases

With the LocalScore AI benchmark built off Llamafile/Llama.cpp as a Mozilla Builder's project, there were some minor improvements to find out of upgrading to Linux 6.15.

Similarly, in PyTorch there were some small but consistent improvements to find when running PyTorch off the Linux 6.15 kernel on this dual AMD EPYC 9755 server.

Not all of the workloads though exhibited better performance with this single kernel version upgrade and in some cases very tiny uplift.

It tended to be in the heaviest AI and HPC benchmarks where Linux 6.15 was yielding improvements over Linux 6.14 on this high-end 5th Gen AMD EPYC server.
