Linux 6.18 LTS vs. Liquorix Kernel On AMD Ryzen Threadripper Workstation Performance
Interestingly with the LevelDB benchmarks the Liquorix kernel was providing some nice throughput and latency advantages for this database test. Liquorix does continue employing the Kyber I/O scheduler by default, among other changes that may explain the I/O benefits.
Though when it came to various FIO runs, the upstream Linux 6.18 LTS kernel was performing better than the downstream Liquorix flavor.
The upstream Linux 6.18 kernel was performing the best with the Sockperf network socket benchmarks except for a big advantage to Liquorix when it came to the latency under load.
