PostgreSQL was showing off some incremental gains when running on the newer Linux kernel versions. Compared to Linux 6.6 LTS, the difference against Linux 7.1 upstream becomes rather significant with the many small kernel enhancements since 2023.

This System76 Thelio Major workstation is yet another system showing lower context switching time on Linux 7.1. In other Linux 7.0 vs. 7.1 benchmarking, other AMD systems have shown similar improvements.

The Nginx HTTPS web server performance has kept evolving nicely with succeeding Linux kernel upgrades.

The Llama.cpp benchmarks were mixed but overall Linux 7.1 appears to be in good shape.
