This was an interesting exercise both for seeing how the AArch64 out-of-the-box Linux distribution performance is comparing these days between popular options and seeing how well AArch64 Linux distributions were installing on this Supermicro AmpereOne server.

👁 Ubuntu Linux on AmpereOne

All of the Linux distributions tested were effortless to install on AmpereOne just as we've enjoyed for years now with Ampere Altra processors. A trouble-free experience with modern AArch64 Linux distributions.

As for the out-of-the-box Linux performance, CentOS Stream 10 overall was leading in the benchmarks that ran successfully across all tested Linux distributions. That's good news ahead of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 as well as the likes of AlmaLinux 10, etc, moving into 2025.
