AMD Radeon RX 9070 Ray-Tracing Performance Improving With Mesa 25.2

As noted, Mesa 25.2 is most exciting for AMD Radeon Linux users when it comes to Vulkan ray-tracing specifically while testing for traditional rasterized games the performance was barely changed going back to Mesa 25.0 on Ubuntu 25.04.

It is nice though that the Radeon RX 9070 / RDNA4 experience out-of-the-box at launch was in good shape for the likes of Ubuntu 25.04 when it comes to these non-ray-traced games and other graphics benchmarks.

For OpenGL workloads with the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver, Mesa 25.2 also didn't offer any performance enhancements there with this Radeon RX 9070 testing paired with Linux 6.14.

But when hitting the Vulkan ray-tracing tests is where Mesa 25.2 began providing some measurable improvements over prior Mesa releases for the RADV driver.
