Initial Linux Gaming/Graphics Performance For The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti
With Counter-Strike 2 on Linux the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti was around 42% faster than the prior-gen RTX 4060. Again, unfortunately, lacking any RTX 4060 Ti though for a direct comparison. For this popular game the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB was at 90% the performance of the RTX 4070. The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti performance here was just ahead of the Radeon RX 7700 XT, which is a graphics card that can be found at some online retailers for around $450 USD.
When running Counter-Strike 2 and looking at the GPU power efficiency, it was ahead of the RTX 4070 series. Unfortunately the MSI GeForce RTX 4060 I have for testing lacks GPU power consumption reporting which is why there are no RTX 4060 results there for reference.
When running Grand Theft Auto 5 under Steam Play on Linux at 1440p with very high visuals, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti was matching the RTX 4070 level of performance. Here the RTX 5060 Ti was competing with the Radeon RX 7900 XT with GTA5 when maxed out visuals the AMDGPU+RADV driver stack struggles in comparison to the NVIDIA Linux driver performance.
At 4K for Grand Theft Auto 5 with high visual quality under Steam Play, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti was still above a 60 FPS average and just behind the GeForce RTX 4070 performance.
