NVIDIA Vera CPU Benchmarks: Olympus Cores Delivering The Best Performance Ever Seen On ARM
Moving onto OpenJDK Java workloads, NVIDIA Vera was very competitive. In cases like Jython performance, Vera managed to beat out all of the EPYC Turin processors tested and come out right behind the Intel Xeon 6980P Granite Rapids processor.
Or with DaCapo's Eclipse benchmark, Vera beat out Granite Rapids and was right behind the AMD EPYC 9575F 5.0GHz Zen 5 processors while ahead of the other Turin models tested.
Very nice generational gains too from NVIDIA's Grace to Vera in these Java workloads.
Vera was very competitive with the current-generation x86_64 processors in the Java workloads benchmarked. It will be interesting to see how the performance-per-Watt compares later in the year.
In some of these benchmarks the gen-on-gen performance went from NVIDIA being the slowest to now the fastest of all tested server processors.
