Benchmarking OpenMandriva Lx 4.2 With Its AMD Zen Optimized Build
The OpenMandriva Lx 4.2 RC1 Znver1 results didn't see any real change out of the Firefox browser performance compared to the x86-64 baseline.
At the end of the day, OpenMandriva Lx 4.2 RC1 with its Zen "Znver1" build saw less than a 1% improvement based on all of the benchmarks. But if looking at only the workloads where the Znver1 optimized builds were making a difference, it tended to come in at 2~3%. As shown by these numbers, the OpenMandriva Lx 4.2 performance is comparable to that of Ubuntu 20.10 while Intel's Clear Linux with its more aggressive optimizations tend to deliver more sizable improvements to the out-of-the-box Linux performance on the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X.
