AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Linux GPU Compute Performance

Starting off with the Hashcat OpenCL application, the Radeon RX 9060 XT was running at 90% the speed of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. That's a nice start considering the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB is priced around $349 to the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB at around $429. But stealing the show in this particular run was the Intel Arc Graphics B580 delivering similar performance to the RX 9060 XT. The prior generation Intel Arc Graphics A770 even came out ahead of the RTX 5060 Ti thanks to all of the Intel Compute Runtime improvements over the past number of months.

But on a performance-per-Watt basis, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards easily won that battle.

With the more demanding SHA-512 benchmark with Hashcat, the Intel Arc Graphics now fell well behind the AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards tested. The RX 9060 XT here was running around 74% the speed of the RTX 5060 Ti, which also continued to sport much better power efficiency.

In the other Hashcat benchmarks, the Radeon RX 9060 XT continued running measurably behind the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti but at least there was the pricing advantage on the RDNA4 side. And at least the RX 9060 XT could run at all on ROCm for launch-day, unlike some of the prior AMD consumer GPU launches.
