With the newer default GNU Compiler Collection and other upgrades with RHEL 10, the RHEL 10 base helped capture better performance out-of-the-box than what was found with RHEL 9.6.
Using OpenJDK Java 21 as the default version over Java 17 on RHEL 9 also meant performance continuing to move in the right direction for OpenJDK Java workloads on this AMD EPYC Turin server.
In most workloads tested on this current-generation AMD EPYC 9005 series server, running with RHEL 10.0 out-of-the-box was delivering incrementally better performance than using RHEL 9.6.
