Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 Performing Well, Great Benefit To Newer Intel Xeon & AMD EPYC Servers

One of the areas where RHEL 9.0 is not faster is on the code compilation side. Of course, with the newer GNU Compiler Collection there are more optimization passes, language features, and more that can lead to longer build times but at the benefit of generally faster executables. So no surprise at all there...

Newer versions of Python and other packages also help out the RHEL9 performance.

For anyone running any recent generations of Intel/AMD/Arm/IBM servers, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 should offer some nice performance improvements over RHEL8. Even on older servers that had mature compiler support with GCC8, RHEL9 can be faster with the newer default Python, PHP, and other package updates.
