With Serious Sam 3 BFE the results were much tighter between the CPUs and finally when running with ultra quality settings the AMD CPUs were able to out-run the i7-8700K.
With the open-source Tesseract game, only at 4K did the Ryzen 7 2700X run up against the Core i7 8700K.
The i7-8700K was still faster with the Intel CPU for the long-standing open-source Xonotic game.
The Intel CPU also yielded faster performance when running the X-Plane 11 flight simulator.
