Intel Xeon 6780E Sierra Forest vs. AMD EPYC 9965 On Linux 6.18 Performance
The AMD EPYC 9965 2P configuration was leading a clear majority of the benchmarks carried out, as would be expected. For those wondering about AmpereOne, unfortunately, I don't have any AmpereOne hardware in my possession for being able to carry out fresh performance benchmarks there.
Besides the core count advantage and more memory channels, the AMD EPYC 9965 processors with having AVX-512 and the full Zen 5 ISA capabilities really help it out in a number of workloads -- with software never being able to make up those lofty differences.
Intel's Open Image Denoise is the latest example of where AMX with Granite Rapids is helping massively.
