The FS-Mark disk benchmarks were trying to edge ever so slightly higher with Ubuntu 13.10 and the Linux 3.11 development kernel, but the PostMark mail server test had regressed on Ubuntu 13.10 20130816.
The OpenGL performance gains for Intel Haswell HD Graphics will be most noticeable from upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10. The gains shown in this article are mostly due to the kernel upgrade (Linux 3.8 to Linux 3.11, with some significant Haswell optimizations having been added to 3.10) as Ubuntu 13.10 hasn't yet pulled in Mesa 9.2.
