System76 Gazelle Pro: Ubuntu 13.04 vs. 13.10
While Ubuntu 13.10 won't be officially released until October, for System76 Gazelle Professional owners -- and Intel Haswell users in general -- will certainly want to upgrade even if solely for the Intel OpenGL performance and feature improvements found with the updated kernel and (soon to land) Mesa 9.2. Today's System76 Core i7 4900MQ results reaffirm what's been published in other articles since the Intel Haswell debut about its Linux support and performance. Outside of the graphics performance, computationally intense applications can benefit from Ubuntu 13.10 if they can take advantage of new features found in GCC 4.8.
