KDE Plasma 6.6 Delivers An Impressive Edge For Radeon Graphics Over GNOME 50 On Ubuntu 26.04
Sadly the ongoing AMD Radeon stability issues in recent Linux kernel versions prevented some games from reliably running.
With the OpenGL-rendered Unigine benchmarks, the performance was typically quite close between the GNOME 50 and Plasma 6.6 desktops except for at 6K where GNOME 50 pulled ahead of Plasma 6.6 -- similar to what we saw out of Batman: Arkham Knight.
For the DDraceNetwork platformer game, Plasma 6.6 allowed for much better performance than GNOME 50. But the game already runs at hundreds of FPS with ease on modern hardware.
