Depending upon your particular workloads, tuning Ubuntu can be worthwhile.

For some of the default packages, Clear Linux ships them in a very well tuned state.

And in some workloads, there is no real difference between these platforms.

The problem with running workloads inside Docker/containers is that the I/O performance can end up degraded.

The GIMP build inside Clear is also quite fast compared to what is shipped on Ubuntu.
