Intel Lunar Lake Showing Some Performance Improvements With Linux 6.16
Even PyTorch performance on the Core Ultra 7 258V SoC was moving in the right direction with Linux 6.16.
Some web browser benchmarks like JetStream 2 were showing slightly better performance when running on Linux 6.16.
And some of the gaming/graphics benchmarks like Unvanquished were showing slightly better performance on this upcoming version of the Linux kernel.
Tests are currently ongoing with other CPUs/laptops and more benchmarks for seeing how widespread these performance improvements may be with the upcoming Linux 6.16 kernel. At least for the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V Lunar Lake SoC within the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition, Linux 6.16 is looking quite nice.
