Genealogical Interests
Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating with cousins and anyone else with an interest in genealogy.
Here is my family tree.
I originally came to Wikitree based on a recommendation from my aunt Kathi. Our cousin, Ray Zeller, had worked diligently to convert my uncle's genealogy research from paper (.pdf) to Wikitree, so I was curious to see what new info I might uncover. I was immediately struck by the power of a well managed, single tree that we were all working to build and improve. My goal is to extend that feeling to some future person I'll never know, primarily by adding and improving profiles in my CC10 network. I'm 100% open to collaboration and helpful suggestions!

We are 4th cousins, Mary Anne Slagle Peavehouse is our 3rd Great Grandmother. I have noticed you have been doing a lot of work on this branch of the family. I have a question for you, would you be interested in also becoming a manager of of those that I am a manager for? I am 84 years old and while I am in good healthnow time does march on. I would like to make sure my 'family' doesn't get left driftless when I have to leave here. If you are interested please contact me. Or maybe just request to become a manager and I will accept it. I am also not as active as I should be. Interested in hearing your reply, Cousin Lynne Sims

It's funny because I nearly sent you a message yesterday! I also saw that we're 4th cousins and have DNA match (as you have with my father - expected - as well). He passed a couple years ago, but sure would've gotten a kick out of Wikitree and all the work there. He's the one who first showed me our connection to the Peavehouse line.
Thank you for all the work you did before I arrived here on Wikitree. It was really great when I started to find so much in place and to "connect the dots." One my missions here is to do the same for others, which is why I've spent quite a bit of time broadening the tree with more aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. I'm quite delighted to make some contribution that hopefully outlasts me.
So yes, I am interested in becoming a manager for any profiles you wish to do so.
Thanks much for reaching out, John

Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Thanks for your message! The orphans FAQ is handy. I've been adopting quite a few orphans in my tree and related links. It's gratifying to clean up our shared one-tree on wikitree. It's a good tip to re-check for pending merges. I'll do that.
Cheers, John

Using the connection link I see that only 4 degrees separate us. I think you are the son of Carolyn Vaughn (maiden name) and may have met you once probably around 1957 @ 64 dyer ave. in Whitman Ma and you were around 3 mos old. If you wish to contact me you may, my email is [email address removed] and I would love to hear from you.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! Itβs very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
