It’s worth mentioning that Obsidian utilizes Markdownand has a pretty steep learning curve. The built-in customization options can make things more complex for users. Plus, to really unlock its powerful features, you’ll need to get familiar with YAML and add a lot of metadata to your documents if you want to use advanced functions.

5 Coggle

If you value collaborative brainstorming

Coggle is great for mind mapping and collaborative brainstorming. Its clean and user-friendly interface makes it simple to turn your thoughts into visual maps. You can quickly branch out ideas, add images, and tweak the appearance of your mind maps to fit your style.

The real strength of Coggle is its collaboration features. Multiple team members can work on the same mind map in real time. You can invite colleagues to your map, chat with them in the messages sidebar, or switch to full-screen presentation mode. Color coding and different branch styles make it easy to keep track of various idea streams. Although the free version has some limitations, it is still powerful enough for most individual or small team brainstorming sessions.

4 FigJam

Particularly powerful for design and product teams
