Nintendo has been steadily adding its older titles to NSO over the lifespan of the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the only games that have been added have come from a handful of consoles. The consoles on NSO include the Game Boy, NES, SNES, and N64. The next console on the list just so happens to be the GameCube, and rumor has it that this system will be added to NSO after the Switch 2 is released. With that being said, I have a strong connection to the GameCube, and it is a console I have been looking forward to, so I have compiled a list of my favorite GameCube titles that Nintendo needs to add to NSO.

5 Fairly OddParents: Breakin' Da Rules

Back to old-school cartoons

The Fairly OddParents was a cartoon that ran from 2001 to 2017. After the show ended, a sequel series was spawned. Many who grew up watching this show have fond memories of the games that were created for it. The Fairly OddParents: Breakin' Da Rules is just one of the games that came from this amazing television show.

The game focuses on Timmy Turner getting angry and wishing to no longer need to follow "Da Rules." Cosmo, his Fairy Godparent, then grants the wish, leading to Timmy's evil babysitter getting her hands on it. You are then tasked with progressing through various game levels, collecting the pages of "Da Rules" to restore the world before the wishing gets out of hand. There are many levels that are extremely memorable, such as the campgrounds and cyberspace.

5 Obscure Nintendo consoles you’ve likely never heard of

Nintendo’s history is full of experimental and regional-exclusive consoles. Here are five unique systems you might have missed.

4 Chibi-Robo!

The little robot that could

Chibi-Robo is one of my personal favorite Nintendo series. It revolves around a tiny robot that is tasked with collecting garbage around a home. As you collect garbage, new areas are unlocked and more of the house becomes available for you to explore. During your time exploring the house, you interact with various toys that help you unlock new areas. Not only does this game offer tons of puzzles, but the simple and fun storyline is something players of all ages can enjoy. While this series has spawned many spin-off titles, such as Chibi-Robo Zip Lash and Park Patrol, there is no comparison to the original that started it all.

3 Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Bringing back a favorite RTS title

Source: The Gamer

Fire Emblem is the go-to RTS series for many Nintendo fans, and it is a series I hold dear to my heart. I have played every Fire Emblem title, and Path of Radiance is one of my all-time favorites. Path of Radiance is the first title in the series to include the fan-favorite character Ike. Ike has since appeared in other Fire Emblem games, such as Radiant Dawn. Ike even became popular enough to be added to multiple Super Smash Bros. titles. Due to its popularity, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance deserves to be added to the Nintendo Switch 2. I would personally like Nintendo to do a complete remake of this title in the future as well.

Nintendo’s sub-console add-ons introduced new formats, expanded capabilities, and paved the way for future gaming innovations.

2 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Better than Wind Waker

There are two major Legend of Zelda titles that were created for the Nintendo GameCube; Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Between the two, I undoubtedly loved Twilight Princess more. The dark tones, gothic style, and unique gameplay made it all the more enjoyable. When I think about The Legend of Zelda, I remember the characters of Twilight Princess the most.

Twilight Princess focuses on the same story, in which Ganon takes over Hyrule. This time, however, he uses twilight creatures that shroud the entirety of Hyrule in permanent twilight. In these twilight zones, Link is transformed into a wolf, giving you access to unique gameplay that you don't get in any other Zelda title.

1 Super Mario Sunshine

Something about it

Source: Nintendo

There is something about Super Mario Sunshine that I have never been able to overcome. Instead of normal 3-D Mario titles where you use standard controls and power-ups, you use Fludd. This robotic water sprayer is your main tool and how you help Mario clean up all the ink that covers Isle Delfino. While it is marked as one of the worst Mario titles by many, it always holds a special place in my heart, and it is time to bring it back by adding it to NSO. This one should be one of the first titles that Nintendo brings back when the GameCube is added to NSO.

The GameCube has some of the best titles

As someone who grew up playing games on the NES, SNES, Game Boy, N64, and GameCube, I loved the GameCube the most. This system, while not as successful as other Nintendo consoles, has some of the best games that I still remember years later. While older consoles started these amazing series that we credit Nintendo with, the GameCube had titles that newer titles can't compare to. Other titles that I would love to see get added to the roster later on include Pokémon Coliseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, and Super Mario Sunshine.
