EA has finally revealed their next Star Wars game, and it looks to be a turn-based experience. On Monday (April. 14), Electronic Arts revealed Star Wars Zero Company on their official website, "a single-player turn-based tactics game"— an adventure and experience starkly different from their previous Star Wars titles in recent memory. While information regarding the new intergalactic foray is scarce, let's break down all we know about Star Wars Zero Company.

10 rumored games that could surface for Xbox Games Showcase 2025

What to expect from the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 is still a big mystery, but there are a few rumors and hints about what we might see.

EA's Next Star Wars Adventure Is Turn-Based

Star Wars Zero Company is set to be released later for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The Nintendo Switch 1 and forthcoming (and rather expensive) Switch 2 are absent from the list of applicable systems, along with any prior-gen hardware, so the upcoming game will use the power that motored previous efforts like the Star Wars: Jedi series.

Zero Company will be developed by Bit Reactor "in collaboration" with Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind TitanFall, Star Wars Jedi, and LucasFilm, per a Star Wars site statement. The turn-based pivot makes sense, considering that Bit Reactor's team comprises OG game veterans who worked on strategy titles such as Civilization and XCOM. In that same statement, it was revealed that the game will include gameplay that finds the player "[recruiting an unconventional team of operatives and [deploying] them on missions unlike any other in the galaxy far, far away."

It's also indicated that the characters behind the human in the key art are "just a few members of the elite squad under your command." The cover art depicts a ragtag group of characters, including what appears to be a Jedi, a bounty hunter-looking figure that screams Mandalorian, and a dude equipped with a rifle, a droid, a Clone Wars trooper, and a rogue. It should be noted that due to the appearance of the Clone Wars trooper, there is a chance that the game could be set during or simply include references to that Star Wars story. And, if you're wondering whether or not the game has any connection to EA's Jedi series, that answer is unclear at the moment. However, the game is an entirely new direction for a main Electronic Arts Star Wars title.

But do not worry; more details surrounding Star Wars Zero Company will be revealed during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan. The event is scheduled to kick off on Saturday (April 19) during a special panel for the video game. Zero Company's exclusive panel is set to begin at 4:30 PM JST, which would be converted to 3:30 PM EST/12:30 PM PST.
