During Gamescom 2025, Bethesda Games confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would be ported over to the Nintendo Switch 2. While there was no given release date, most people believe the game could arrive on Switch 2 sometime in 2026. For many players, the lines separating the big three consoles continue to blur with announcements like this, making what was once thought impossible quite possible. The news about Indiana Jones marks one of the first major recent Xbox titles to come to the Nintendo Switch 2 after its initial release. However, certain Xbox games have also made the transition to Nintendo platforms before, such as with Grounded. Additionally, other Xbox Series X/S games have been rumored to be coming to Nintendo platformsin the near future.
So, which games have a realistic shot at being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2? With the possibilities of major Xbox titles being fair game for new ports, it makes things very interesting for those who play on both platforms. It's entirely possible we will be playing some of the biggest Xbox first-party titles on the go with the Switch 2. And it may be a lot sooner than we think. Here are four Xbox titles that I want to see brought over to the Nintendo Switch 2 next.
Review: The Switch 2 is the best gaming handheld you can buy, and the ultimate form of Nintendo's vision
Nintendo's latest hardware might be the console you're looking for. Here's our review!
Starfield
Space exploration on the go
For Xbox Series X/S owners, Starfield was a game that was supposed to be a massive addition to the console's library. And while things may not have turned out as grand as everyone hoped, Starfield is still a massive Xbox game from Bethesda Game Studios. This is why, when rumors of a possible port of the game to the Switch 2 may be incoming, many Xbox fans were skeptical and worried. The game has been a major selling point by Xbox for everyone to pick up an Xbox Series X, and was one of the marquee games for the brand in previous Xbox Game Showcase presentations. But now with major releases like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Gears of War showing up on other platforms, it makes the possibility of Starfield showing up on the Switch 2 very plausible.
Other Bethesda Games have been ported to the original Nintendo Switch in the past, such as the Wolfenstein series and Doom games. But what makes Starfield a different case altogether is just how much it was tied to Xbox as a whole, before and after its initial release. While it might not be the same as something like seeing a Fallout game on the Nintendo Switch 2, it's the next best option that could open the door for other releases from the company showing up in the Switch 2 library. Most likely, changes to the game would need to be made in order for Starfield to run well. But having a galactic-sized role-playing game odyssey that you can take with you anywhere is a very intriguing thought.

Doom: The Dark Ages
Raging on with Nintendo
Previous titles in the Doom series have seen ports for the original Nintendo Switch. So it makes total sense that a port of the latest entry in the series would follow suit. Doom: The Dark Ages is a prequel to the reboot of the series from 2016, following The Slayer in the early portions of his war with the demons of Hell. The game was a technical powerhouse in presentation, as well as a furious display of violent first-person action. On consoles, Doom: The Dark Ages ran very well and played beautifully for everyone, bringing more of what people loved about the previous Doom titles. But with so much power on display, with how detailed the game is, many have questioned whether something like Doom: The Dark Ages would be able to run on Nintendo's new console, even if it is an upgrade from the original Nintendo Switch.
However, the same thing was said about both Doom titles before their respective ports were released on the Switch. And luckily for everyone, they played very well too, despite a few compromises with the visuals. Doom: The Dark Ages has a strong chance of turning out the same way, even if the total power of the experience is not the same as on other platforms. Not many people are going to complain much if it still feels good to rip and tear through demons quickly on any game console.
Rumors of the game coming to the Switch 2 have lingered for a while, but no official confirmation was ever made by id Software or Bethesda. The Nintendo Switch 2 is a stronger system than its predecessor, so it's entirely possible that a port of Doom: The Dark Ages could be much closer to the other consoles than what was done before. But no matter how you slice it, having a Doom game on your console is always welcome.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Bringing the fight to Switch 2
The Halo games are some of the most legendary first-person shooters in modern gaming. Halo: The Master Chief Collection brought together the entirety of the saga into one package, allowing fans to relive the epic battles and amazing multiplayer competition. Although things were very rocky for the collection at the start, various updates and tweaks made Halo: The Master Chief Collection the best way to experience everything about the franchise before the release of Halo Infinite. However, the series has not been on any other platform to date, as it's been an Xbox first-party title since the beginning. But with the reveal of Gears of War: Reload going to platforms like PlayStation 5, things might be changing.
While it might be a long time before we see a brand-new Halo game go multi-platform, it's entirely reasonable to see something like Halo: The Master Chief Collection on consoles other than the Xbox. And if there was going to be a way to introduce Nintendo console owners to the series, this collection would be the ideal option. Most players who never owned any Xbox console have probably not played through the first few Halo games, making this a very attractive deal. What makes this even more possible is how newer games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are going to be playable on the Switch 2, which is a detailed experience that any console will have a tough time running smoothly.
Most of the games included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection are older titles from the early 2000s, and are nowhere near as detailed or hardware-intensive as anything released close to the year 2025. So the Nintendo Switch 2 should be able to run the Halo games perfectly fine, without any major issues. Whether this will actually happen is up to Xbox itself, but rumors about a big reveal of the collection for the PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 have lingered for a long time. Time will tell if we get to see the Master Chief battling the Covenant on a Nintendo console anytime soon.

Gears of War: E-Day
Calling in the Gears
One of the biggest franchises for Microsoft during the Xbox 360 era was Gears of War. The series has been a staple of the Xbox brand ever since it started, with more than eight games released for the series to date. However, the release of Gears of War: Reload is bringing the first game to other platforms like the PlayStation 5, marking the first time we've seen Gears of War on another console that doesn't have Xbox in the title. And while it's possible that Gears of War: Reload could be brought to the Nintendo Switch 2 as well, the more interesting game to see ported to Nintendo's console would be the upcoming prequel title in the franchise, Gears of War: E-Day. The game is a prequel that takes place 14 years before the events of the first game, with Marcus and Dom coming together for the events of the infamous E-Day in the Gears universe.
While Gears of War: E-Day was announced only for Xbox Series X/S and PC right now, it would be interesting to see the game also brought over to Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. Nintendo's console is no longer a vastly underpowered system in comparison to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and is able to run more games than before with the original Switch. Now that the series is making the jump across borders to other platforms, it would be very interesting to see the series grow by having the next new game available on each of the platforms we see Gears of War: Reload is released for. Non-Xbox owners could have Gears of War: Reload to introduce them to the series with the first game, and then have the next brand-new title available right after.

Seeing Xbox on a Nintendo platform
It's going to be strange at first seeing games that were once so closely tied to Xbox consoles running on the Nintendo Switch 2. It's something that most gamers would never think was possible only a few years ago. But as more titles that were once exclusive to the Xbox platform get revealed to be receiving ports, it becomes more likely that we'll see even bigger Xbox games on Nintendo's new console. What franchises will be making the jump is anyone's guess, but playing major Xbox games running on different hardware has become a very real thing more than ever.

With all three platforms having their own mobile apps, this is what you need to know about which one is the best to use.
