- IT & e-surveillance initiatives have made it impossible to pilfer coal at Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. Its e-surveillance unit monitors operations 24X7 in real time, uses GPS/GPRS-based vehicle tracking, geofencing mining areas & monitors sidings at Angul, Jharsuguda & Sundergarh.
- CIL has provided food packets & water bottles to migrant workers travelling on Shramik special trains, to their homes. Food packets were distributed to migrants in trains passing through Ranchi railway station in Jharkhand and Asansol in West Bengal.
- CIL has planted more than 99.6 million trees over an area of 39842 hectares from its inception till 31 March 2020. CIL undertakes extensive plantation along avenues, on OB dumps, around mines & residential colonies to maintain the ecological balance in & around it operations.
