Frontline Assembly
Isligton Academy
Arrived in time to catch the supports , first of which being Concrete Lung.
Was very impressed with them had a great live sound could hear influences of Ministry , Cubanate and Godflesh and they have just released their debut EP - waste of flesh.
Jesus Loves Amerika - i got bored with rather quickly and found them rather repetitive especially the overlong and rather immature final song , fuck da police.
FLA  were absloutley awesome , much better than when i saw them at the Scala some years ago .
The new album sounds ace live .
The majority of the crowd were great but i still don't understand some people , if you can't handle being pushed and thrown about then don't stand down the front  just move it's really easy.
A woman at the barrier seemed to spend more time glaring at the people enjoying themselves behind her than enjoying the gig herself, apparently she apologised to me for giving me greif for falling into her as i explained if someone pushes me im going to get shoved into the person in front of me.
Apparently she had dislocated her knee , so then why the fuck are you at the front of the gig !?
Plus a young teenager and his girlfreind who clearly had not been to many gigs before spent the whole time really upset that they were not able to stand still.
I told him if he could not handle it then he should move , he agreed with me but was still determined to protect his GF even though she told him the same.
Gutted that i found out afterwards they came back on for another encore of Bio Mechanic but we left as soon as Mindphaser finished to get the last train.
Was also impressed that Bill met up with some of the mindpahsers in the pub before the gig , i missed this as well as i wanted to check out the supports.
Would give anything to see them again at the moment.

Skinny Puppy 18/7/2010

My 4th time for seeing Skinny Puppy, they returned to the Forum where if first saw them six years ago.
The upstairs was closed and it seemd to be only just about two thirds full downstairs which was a shame.
They played a great gig and the crowd really loved it and were loud enough to cover up the fact it was nto packed. The performance and imagery was very diffrent again to previous times i had seen them and the set was changed considerably too , always a good thing .
Songs being played , mixed diffrently made it hard for me to recognise a lot at the time, but i find that  as their material is always so muti layered and textured anyway.A couple of times i felt the remnants of what i thought was someone throwing their beer over the crowd , nothing unusual in that but it was only after awhile i realised it was actually fake blood.
Me and viv left the gig with what looked like cuts and gashes on our face and head this made for some amusing comments on the way home. Had some funny looks form people in the queue at burger king where they though we had a fight with each other.
The support was called Hounds could have done without them.

Killing Joke - New Album Set for Sept 27th Plus UK Shows

NEW ‘ABSOLUTE DISSENT’ ALBUM SET FOR SEPTEMBER 27th 2010 VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS UK. ‘EUROPEAN SUPER STATE’ SINGLE TO LEAD THE WAY ON SEPTEMBER 6th...

KILLING JOKE will have an album of brand new material released on September 27th 2010 on Spinefarm Records UK

Titled ‘Absolute Dissent’, the record features 12 tracks produced by the band themselves – iconic frontman Jaz Coleman, guitarist Geordie Walker, bassist Youth and drummer Paul Ferguson – and engineered/mixed by Clive Goddard, who has worked with Youth on a selection of high-profile projects.

‘Absolute Dissent’ will be released on a number on formats, including double coloured vinyl and a Deluxe 2-CD package; the latter will feature a bonus disc showcasing Killing Joke cover versions from bands such as Metallica, Helmet & Spinefarm labelmates Dead By April, whose version of ‘Love Like Blood’ was recently released as a digital single.

The full track-listing for the main disc is as follows:-

The Woman in 3D

"Hammer's hotly anticipated The Woman In Black, an adaptation of Susan Hill's popular ghost story, has been announced as the company's first 3D production.


Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) from a script by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass), the film is being co-financed by Hammer's parent company Exclusive, and Alliance Films. Filming is expected to commence in the autumn, with Alliance also distributing the film in the UK, Spain and Canada."

The annual Resurgence was another fab night thanks to Mr Pete Scathe !
Caught up with numerous people that i had not seen in ages some not since the previous May bank holiday.

This years W.G.T program has been put up , so last night was deciding who and where and what clashes with what.

Looks like it could be first year without attending the Werk II which is a bummer as i really like that venue.
