I think this is my favourite of the new brushes. The original buffer brushes are great for highlights and cheeks but found that using them for contouring left me more likely to have lines. The head on the Cream/Powder brush makes it quick and easy to contour. I also love it for setting powder as the shorter brush head (compared with original powder brush) means it picks-up the powder better. The original powder brush is still a good brush but I find when I am getting low on powder it's harder to pick-up powder from the corners of the dish and the head is losing some shape because of the pressure i'm using to get powder from the corners. Powder brush has not moved into my make-up purse as a second life.
I've also tried it with foundation and it works really wekk but the buff/diffuser brush is still my favourite for applying foundation.
The contoured bristles really helps apply the product evenly. Nicely weighted so easy to use
