There is Earth, the familiar world, and then there is the Black World, a parallel dimension that very few people are aware of. For centuries, a pact between the two worlds has been observed to maintain peace, and terms must be negotiated and renewed soon to continue relative harmony.

This time around, there is a militant faction that will stop at nothing to prevent the signing of a new treaty for inter-dimensional peace. Two agents of the elite organization known as the Black Guards — defenders of the balance between the two worlds — are charged with ensuring the success of the treaty.

Created more than 10 years later, Shihaisha no Tasogare recaptures Youjuu Toshi's dark setting of humans vs demons conflict on a near future Earth. Thankfully it also recaptures the gore and nudity.

I was entertained. I don't understand why this has such low ratings. The art style is amazing, music as well and the story will have you second guessing everything. A very good movie, for me at least.

A really wicked movie which caters for a lot of fetishes like insect-like-monsters with tentacles and/or spikes and rape to name just a few. Since they aren't exactly my fetishes I could have done without them.

Other than that the general story was interesting and had some nice twists. The animation and especially the character design looked really good and the music was nice too.

For fans of extreme content. they don't kid around calling this movie wicked, it certainly is.

Very much like Demon city Shinjuku and Ninja scrolls, this realization (which is from the same person) is about to show you more and more twisted monsters and how the heroes dispatch them. The story itself is not of great interest, and simply brings about the creatures and the ensuing fights. You will not be spared of the usual twist at the end of the film. The premise is simple, if not hooked by the the story, there is enough of a plot to keep you interested, but do not expect much of it either.
This is clearly rather for adults and young adults as sex is not an off-screen matter (there is an explicit rape scene).

The main protagonists are not bunch of flawless good guys versus the incarnation of the evil, and you get attached to them. Which for an hour and half of film is the sign that the characterization is well done. At least far better than in Demon city Shinjuku.

The animation and the visuals are perfectly in line with the quality of good OVAs of that era, and are fine. The music sticks well to the mood, and if perfectly forgettable, does the job.

In brief, if you liked Ninja scrolls, you can see another work from the same guy, and compare it. If you think Ninja scrolls completely lacked of a deep story (which is alas hard to deny) and had a good imagination about monsters and fights, you have the previous version, and can see that indeed there has been some improvements. Not a bad film, entertaining, but do not watch it with your kids or you're headed for embarrassing questions.
