Shudou Takeshi was born August 18, 1949 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. He was a scenario writer and novelist with animation being the center of his work. He was member of the Writers Guild of Japan.

Shudou was most famously known as the creator of the TV hit anime series Minky Momo. For which he did create the original story, wrote the anime screenplay and manga adaptions thereof.

The varying themes of the show, issues unheard of in a mahou shoujo anime until then and the profoundness of the plot were some of the most outstanding traits of the franchise and earned Shudou recognition from the viewership.

Shudou was hospitalised after he was found collapsed at the Nara railway station's smoking area. He died at the hospital with the cause being a subarachnoid hemorrhage in his head. He was 61 years old.
